VA’s: When Do You Find Time To Grow Your Own Business?

I must admit that I have come across a slight problem that I had never considered: now that I’ve got multiple clients and projects, I can’t seem to find the time to do my own projects.

Even finding the time to write blog posts is hit or miss. Right now I have the time because Audacity is taking its sweet ol’ time converting an mp3 file but otherwise I’m jumping from one project to the next.

Now, don’t get me wrong! I’m loving life and I’m thrilled to pieces to be working from home with some really great clients but honestly, I could easily use another 12 hours in the day to finish these projects, all of which are in various stages of development.

Does this VA need to hire a VA? Interesting thought…

I’m curious to know how other service providers handle this. Care to share your thoughts?

I have hired a VA because I have other projects that I had before starting my service based business. Now I am not a VA, but I do provide some VA services with my writing business.

Yes, I’ve definitely run into this myself and am still working on finding a good solution. I listened to that interview with Erin as well and it really helped me realize how important the systems really are in keeping a service business running smoothly.

As you know I have been outsourcing to other virtual assistants (and you have to if you want your business to continue to grow) but I find if my clients projects are too scattered it’s very had to just have a VA jump in unless it’s at the beginning of a project where she can see everything going on from the start.

Ok, so I don’t really have a solution for you, but I hear you on not having the time!

I usually have to get a little time in here and there and during slow or down times I can get a little more time in to grow my business. What I need to do and just haven’t been able to just yet is set up a scheduled time for it. But I’m working on it.

Honestly, you have to schedule that time in your day just like your clients time, family time, etc. That’s how I started doing it.

Then I found out my mom wanted to start learning some things and I had her doing some of it for me - after all she was free! ;)
